Tarrah and Bradley got married over Labor Day weekend on Tarrah's grandpa's farm in Canada. I joined them for a weekend of preparation and celebration, and it was such a joy and honor to spend time with Tarrah's grandparents and family on their beautiful, wide-open land.
I arrived on Friday and the weather Friday and Saturday was clear, blue skies and bright sunshine. Sunday morning though, clouds started to roll in and rain began sprinkling from the sky. The ceremony had always been planned for outside, beneath the arbor that Tarrah's grandfather built. But as the rain showed little signs of stopping, it became increasingly obvious that the entire ceremony may need to be moved to the church.
Tarrah and Bradley ended up making the call to chance the rain, and I'm so glad they did. While guests arrived onto the property, umbrellas popping every which way, the rain began to slow. Before the ceremony officially began, Tarrah's grandfather John asked everyone to put away their umbrellas, led the crowd in an impromptu prayer for the weather. And as he transitioned into ceremony, the rain had stopped completely. The ceremony and reception afterwards was absolutely magical and perfect.
